From Minority Languages
to Global Insights

The Zoorna Institute is a nonprofit center for research and education at the intersection of language, AI, and society. We advance multilingual technologies and linguistic scholarship on low-resource languages, with a focus on the Middle East and the Caucasus, to ensure that technological progress benefits every community.

Advancing AI for the languages most often left behind

Our research focuses on low-resource and underrepresented languages, particularly those of the Middle East and the Caucasus.

Our work combines linguistic theory, computational modeling, and social science inquiry to deepen understanding of language and develop practical tools grounded in that knowledge.

Training the next generation of multilingual AI thinkers

Through our AI4Her initiative, regional workshops, and custom curriculum, we:

  • teach foundational AI and NLP concepts

  • center multilingual and ethical design

  • empower women and girls to shape the future of AI

  • build pathways toward participation in the AI workforce

From the Zoorna Lab

Updates, insights, and explorations from our ongoing work in multilingual NLP, minority language research, and inclusive AI design.
