Innovation

From Research to Real-World Impact

We turn linguistic research into practical tools that benefit people and society.

Zoorna AI is the applied branch of the Institute, focused on transforming linguistic insights into practical systems, prototypes, and resources that respond to real human needs.

Multilingual AI Tutor

Our Multilingual AI Tutor helps learners read and understand texts in languages that are often underrepresented online, starting with Persian and Armenian. It offers gentle support through vocabulary help, summaries, and cultural notes—so learners can focus on meaning, not just memorization.

The system also models real communication by integrating social and cultural nuances, such as politeness and conversational style, drawn from our research on taarof and cultural pragmatics.

Timeline Intelligence

This project teaches AI to follow the flow of events across time—linking what happened, when, and how stories connect. By turning scattered reports into clear timelines, it helps researchers and analysts tract developments in areas such as politics, conflict, and diplomacy, offering a clearer view of change as it unfolds.

Beyond geopolitics, Timeline Intelligence can support journalism, education, and historical research by helping users see how narratives evolve and how individual events fit into broader patterns.

Prototype under development through Zoorna AI.

Tajik-Farsi Transliteration Tool

Iranian and Tajik Persian share a language but use different scripts. This tool automatically converts between the two, allowing readers, journalists, teachers, and students to move easily across Perso-Arabic and Cyrillic alphabets.
It opens access to a wider range of materials for both communities and supports cross-regional learning and research.

Prototype in progress.
Public demo coming soon.
