We’re thrilled to announce that our workshop proposal, “SilkRoadNLP: NLP and Large Language Models for the Iranian Language Family,” has been accepted for presentation at the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL 2026) in Morocco.

SilkRoadNLP will be the first ACL-affiliated forum dedicated to the computational study of the Iranian language family—spanning Persian, Kurdish, Balochi, Luri, Gilaki, Pashto, and other low-resource and endangered languages.

The workshop aims to advance multilingual NLP research, foster collaboration across linguistic and cultural communities, and create a centralized repository for Iranian language resources.

Organizers: Karine Megerdoomian (Zoorna Institute), Ehsaneddin Asgari (QCRI), Rayyan Merchant (Zoorna Institute), and Ali Salehi (University at Buffalo).
